In addition to sun and shore, Avila Beach also offers a first-rate wine trail with complex and welcoming wineries that showcase the best of the Central Coast region. With more than 250 wineries and 32,000 acres of vineyards spanning across San Luis Obispo County wine region, this wine lover's playground has something for everyone. As one of the micro-wine tasting regions in the larger wine country, Avila Beach Wine Trail has its own casual, relaxed, and beachy atmosphere.

Peloton Cellars

This winery combines the owner’s love for deliciously crafted wines with cycling, and offers high-quality wines with detail-focused winemaking. Peloton is located just off the Avila Beach boardwalk and aims to make wines that are a pleasure to drink any night of the week.

Alapay Cellars

Alapay Cellars, located a couple blocks away from the shore, has been an Avila Beach staple for the past 15 years. They offer a variety of French oak-aged wines, including sparkling, white, dessert, and red wines. The welcoming atmosphere includes bar seating and an aquarium, and owners frequently befriend patrons.

Avila Wine Company

Avila Wine Company is a curated wine tasting room serving over 200 wines from the Central Coast and Northern California, as well as offering international selections. They also provide craft beers and small bites, and the vibe is relaxed and fun with lots of friendly service and helpful information available.

Sinor-LaVallee

This esteemed Avila beach winery primarily produces Pinot grapes from their estate winery near the coast. Emphasizing the terroir, or land quality, of their estate, the wines also reflect the passion and hardwork that makes producing quality wines possible. Offering wines such as Pinor Noir, Syrah, and Chardonnay, many palates will appreciate Sinor-Lavalle’s offerings at their Avila tasting room.

Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards

This vineyard is located a five-to-ten-minute drive away from the beach in the hills in between Avila Beach and San Luis Obispo. Emphasizing their history as an apple farm, Kelsey See produces hard ciders and apple-grape blended wines. This vineyard offers plenty of space for larger groups, with indoor and outdoor seating, a lovely patio, and lawn games. Try their merlot, which has notes of ripe cherry and spice.

Pierfront Wine and Brew

This luxe downtown Avila bar offers ninety different wines ranging from local to international wines, with three tap handles with beer on tap. Order by the glass or by the bottle, enjoy tasty appetizers, and enjoy the views of the pier and ocean.

Avila Wine and Roasting

This wine bar, which offers wines from the region and beyond, is unpretentious, cozy, and romantic. The friendly owner is eager to share information to those less accustomed to wine culture. Sit out on the quaint patio right on Avila’s main street and enjoy a great selection of wine with a fantastic view.
